Workshop schedule for August to November
Workshop Information:
1st and 3rd Wednesday (February to November)
Arrive at 9.45 am to start at 10.00 am.     Finish at 1.00 pm
Studio 2, Gosford Regional Gallery and Arts Centre.
Cost $30.00 per week. $40 per week non-members.
Bookings are essential.

Gosford Regional Gallery and Arts Centre provide plenty of convenient parking and disability access.

Digital Meets Mixed Media

​This workshop is about manipulating photographs and printing them onto fabric and papers that have been painted, had a texture medium added and prepared for printing through a home printer.

Workshop 1 will be preparing the textured substrates as above.
Workshop 2 will be using your smart phone and apps to manipulate your photos and then print them onto the prepared substrate from workshop 1.

Landscape Painting in Oils

Theme: Landscape with Ocean/Water
Traditional principles of painting landscapes in general with a focus on composition, tonal value and colour.
3 stages of painting - drawing/blocking in, modelling and detail will be explored.

Plan:
Day 1 - A tonal sketch of a scene supplied. 
Paint together in class and finish at home.
Day 2 - A tonal sketch of your own landscape. 
Paint with help from tutor and finish at home.

Materials:
• 2 x 12x16 boards or canvas for landscapes,
• 2 x 12x16 or smaller boards or canvas for tonal sketches (please gesso boards 1 week early 
if desired),
• Odourless solvent
• Stick of charcoal or soft pencil for drawing 
and rubber
• Brushes: large bright 12,10, 6,2 Filberts 6,4 
and small detail brush (Bring what you have)
• Paint colour suggestions: Alizarin, Cad scarlet, Cad orange, Lemon yellow, Indian yellow, Ultramarine, Cobalt, Cerulean, Burnt sienna, Yellow ochre, Veridian, Titanium white, Payne’s grey, Cobalt teal. (Bring what you have)

Bold Mixed Media
Sita Cooray
Sita completed her Art Certificate and Diploma in Drawing and Printmaking at Orange Tafe and did a further 4 years at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst, studying Life Drawing and Painting under the late David Wilson. John Olsen and Fred Cress were two of her teachers.

Workshops:
Sita will be demonstrating her bold techniques in collage and penwork and she will guide participants to achieve her colourful artworks.

Materials List:
• Watercolours, inks, oil pastels, acrylics, charcoal stick, pens, pencils. (whatever you have)
• PVA glue
• Variety of brushes
• Small scissors
• Sketch book
• Bring jell block printed paper (if you have any), coloured textured papers or old watercolour/acrylic paintings to be cut up and repurposed.
• 2 x small canvasses
